Good evening Denison Montessori community! How fabulous was last Friday’s Cinco de Mayo Fiesta? We appreciate all the support our school received from families and community members to make this event such a success. We also want to thank Mrs. Alice for her continued dedication to our school and community to make this event such a wonderful experience!

There are many fun activities and events coming up as we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year. We hope to see you joining us very soon!

Bullying Prevention Tip: This is our last Bullying Prevention update for this school year. We hope you’ve learned a little more about how we are working to eliminate bullying from our community as well as ways to support your child through situations they may experience. We will be sustaining our focus on bullying prevention throughout the 2024-2025 school year, so please watch for more information next year!

Next week is Teacher Appreciation week and we know we have the best teachers at Denison Montessori! We hope you will take a few minutes to let them know how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication to our students. Please see the schedule below for ways we will be appreciating our staff with the help of Families of Denison Montessori (FDM). If you are interested in helping FDM with appreciating our staff, please email them at fdmontessori@gmail.com. Thanks!

Denison Montessori is partnering with the Colorado Rockies to raise money for our school. Please see the attachments for more information and reach out to Jessica Jeong (jessica_jeong@dpsk12.net) to order tickets.
This Thursday, May 9th, Denison will host a Denison Shakespeare and Drama Hour, sponsored by the Denver Association of Gifted and Talented. This workshop is for Denison Shakespeare actor-participants and the entire Denison Community. Sam Wood, a performer with the Denver Center for Performing Arts, will be leading drama exercises during this one hour workshop from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please reach out to Denison teacher Janet Draper, janet_draper@dpsk12.net, to reserve your spot!
On June 3rd, we are planning to hold an Afternoon of Service to remember Primary Lead Teacher Liz Harkness and all of our classrooms will be invited to participate. After school at 4:00 p.m., we will be planting a tree outside her classroom that will be dedicated to her memory. If your child was in Ms. Liz’s classroom at some point in their Denison career, we hope you will consider joining us to remember all she did for her students and our school.
Online registration will be offered from May 6th-24th and again from July 29th-late August. This process can be completed through DPS’s Parent Portal. Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to get started. If you need help, visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org or contact Denison’s main office.
