Good evening, Denison Montessori community. Last week’s snow storm brought a very unexpected ending to the week. We loved having primary families visit their child’s classroom for Watch Me Work Night before the storm turned to snow. Maybe you had a chance to buy some snacks to support our 6th graders as they raised money for their upcoming 6th grade trip before visiting the Book Fair. This week brings class pictures and spirit week as we get ready for spring break. Have a marvelous week!

Bullying Prevention Tip: One way to prevent bullying is to teach children to include, rather than exclude, others. Successful inclusion takes place when people accept, understand, and attend to differences and diversity in their classroom and their community. We have recently started acknowledging students who are helping and including others during recess by giving them a recess ROSE to build a more inclusive community at Denison.

Announcements

Spring Individual and Classroom Pictures are scheduled for Monday, March 18th and Tuesday, March 19th. If you would like to order Spring Individual pictures please use EVENT CODE EVTZX88V8. For Classroom Group Pictures please use EVENT CODE EVTKPJ3Q4. Orders can be placed online at Mylifetouch.com. The event codes should be active until March 21st. If you miss this deadline, your next opportunity to order will be when your child receives his/her proofs, which usually arrive 2 to 3 weeks after picture day. The proof will have a unique access code and portrait ID # that can be used to place your order. Please see the attached flyers for the Individual Spring pictures and the Classroom Pictures. If you have any questions on any picture orders ,please contact the Lifetouch Parent Line at 1-800-736-4753.
Spirit Week is returning to Denison this week! Our 6th grade students have planned the daily themes. We hope to see our students joining in the fun!
- Monday: Wear Green and/or Denison Spirit day
- Tuesday: Backward day
- Wednesday: Silly hair/hat day
- Thursday: Sport or favorite activity day
- Friday: Pajama day
Denison’s Collaborative School Committee met last week. Check out the minutes for all the details. The next meeting is Tuesday, April 9th and we will be asking for input for the school’s unified improvement plan. All community members are welcome to attend.
