Good afternoon, Denison Montessori community. Our school has seen a marked increase in positive COVID cases this week. Out of an abundance of caution, we were advised by DPS's nursing department and the City of Denver's Department of Public Health and Environment to send all students home who were coughing, even if masked and without a fever.

If your child was sent home today, we recommend that they test for Covid before returning to school. If the they test positive, they should follow CDC guidelines below. If they are negative, they can return to school as long as they are fever free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medication AND symptoms are improving. We are working with DPS's facilities department to ensure we are following all cleaning and disinfecting protocols across our school.

We are asking all families to please observe the following guidelines to ensure our school is able to stay healthy and open for our students:

For all students and staff that have been identified with positive COVID, Denison will require that current
CDC guidelines of isolating for 5 days and returning to school MASKED for another 5 days be followed. Students and staff may return to school as long as they are fever free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medication AND symptoms are improving.
If students are not able to keep masked appropriately, they should remain in isolation for a total of 10 days.
If your child tests positive for COVID, please report it to our health office at 720-424-8085 or by emailing kendra_dozsak@dpsk12.net or shannon_corp@dpsk12.net
Please keep your child home when they are sick:
- CDPHE’s "How Sick Is Too Sick" guidance is available in multiple languages to help you determine when to keep your chid at home
Wear a mask when you have illness symptoms or have a known exposure.
Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow.
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water.

Buenas tardes comunidad Denison Montessori. Nuestra escuela ha visto un marcado aumento en casos positivos de COVID esta semana.
