Montessori Moment: Montessori classrooms are multi-age, which allows children to learn and grow with the same teacher for three years. Primary classrooms, for children ages ECE33 – Kindergarten, encourage our youngest students to explore and discover, to collaborate with classmates, and to take responsibility for their learning. The Montessori Method encourages self-directed learning that promotes self-confidence, independent thought and action, and critical thinking, while fostering social-emotional and intellectual growth. From the American Montessori Society (AMS) website, “Education for peace is a foundational component of Montessori education at all levels. At the Early Childhood level, the teaching of peace, social justice, and global citizenship is based on fostering respect for all people and living things, and helping children learn the tools for peaceful conflict resolution.”

Please be sure to remind your child to dress in layers while we are getting our new heating system calibrated. We are experiencing varying temperatures in the classrooms and sometimes even within the same classroom and we want your child to be comfortable while in the building. Thanks!
The DPS “Your Voice/Tu Voz” Family Survey is open now through Wednesday, Nov. 15. Families can access the survey link here. Families who complete their survey between now and Nov. 15 will be eligible for a gift card giveaway! Schools with the highest completion percentage will also be eligible for prizes from DPS, so please help Denison earn one of these awards! Make an impact this November by taking the DPS Your Voice/Tu Voz family survey.
On November 14th, Denison is happy to announce the return of our Fall Feast meal. A limited number of tickets are on sale now for family members to join their students to celebrate, payable by cash or check. Adult tickets will cost $7 and child tickets (for students who don’t attend Denison) will cost $5. You must have your ticket to attend the meal on 11/14. Upper Elementary lunch will start at 10:45. The first Primary lunch will begin at 11:15. Lower Elementary lunch will be served at 11:35. The second group of Primary classrooms will go through the line starting at 11:55. If you have children in more than one level, please eat with the first group served and inform the teacher via email that you are planning to take your child to
