Bullying Prevention Tip: At least once per month this year we will share information about bullying prevention to help our families learn more about Denison Montessori’s efforts to stop bullying. According to stopbullying.gov, parents, school staff, and other caring adults involved with your children can play an important part in preventing bullying. Please check out the website for more information!

Early Release Wednesdays start this week! Please note that all students will be dismissed at 1:00 this Wednesday, September 6th, from their regular dismissal locations. Thank you for your help with this change as we work to continue collaborative planning and professional learning in support of your students!
We prioritize the socio-emotional health of all Denison students and would like parent input to help us with this work. DPS uses a tool called the BESS, Behavioral and Emotional Screening System, that allows parents, teachers, and students in grades 3-6 to provide input concerning their socio-emotional well-being. Since our youngest children do not complete the survey, we are asking all families of students in ECE3-2nd grade to complete this survey. Families of students in 3-6 are also welcome to complete the survey. Please use the BESS Parent/Caregiver Screening flier to support parents/caregivers in the completion of the screening. If you have any questions about this survey, please reach out to our social worker, Kirsten Loar, at kirsten_loar@dpsk12.net
Denison Montessori has a new registered nurse this school year, Penelope Eppling. She will be at Denison on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Our health tech, Kendra Doszak, is returning to Denison for her second year and will be in the health office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Please reach out to our health office if your child has any changes in their health status or to share any information the school might need to support your child’s health. Thanks!
Through the Every Kid Outdoors program, all fourth graders nationwide have access to all National Parks System units for a year! Your fourth grader received their pass on Friday. Please visit everykidoutdoors.org for more information or contact Ms. Tara with questions!

DPS’s Family and Community Engagement Office is offering two different earning sessions for families.
- Tuesday, Aug. 29: School Emergency Protocols: Join Kip Sixbury, DPS School Emergency Manager, to learn and ask questions about School Emergency Protocols practices at all Denver Public Schools. English and Spanish options are available. We will also give away tickets to the museum of Nature and Science! RSVP here.
- Thursday, Sept. 21: Supporting LGBTQ+ Community: This session will be hosted by Fortaleza Familiar to cover Parenting and Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth. There will be a prize giveaway for those who attend the live session. English and Spanish options are available. RSVP here.

¡Los miércoles de salida anticipada comienzan esta semana!
