It’s nearly time!  We are thrilled to welcome our 1st - 6th grade students to the 2023-2024 school year tomorrow, August 21st.  We are looking forward to our kindergarteners joining us on Tuesday, August 22nd.  All Primary classes will be using the same doors for arrival and dismissal.  Lower and Upper Elementary classes will be dismissed from the same location as last year.  If you are not sure where that is, please contact your child’s teacher.  We are excited to have our ECE students join us over the next few weeks so our school will be full!  It's going to be a hot week, even with the new air conditioning. Please send your child with a water bottle if possible. See most of you tomorrow morning.

Announcements

  • Please note that the north end of Yates approaching the main entrance of our school will be a “KIss and Go” lane ONLY during arrival.  Please do NOT park in the Kiss and Go lane to support better traffic flow.  If you student needs help getting a backpack or other supplies out of the car, please park at another area close to the school  Please see the attached map for more detail.  Thank you for your cooperation.  

  • Please review the linked information about school drop-off and pick up routines and times for the 2023-2024 school year in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.  (add new times)

 

  • Did you know that your student’s attendance can impact their socio-emotional and academic growth?  Studies have shown that students who miss multiple days of school per year are at risk for reading below grade level.  Denison Montessori wants to support all students’ regular, daily attendance.  Please review our updated attendance guidelines, available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, for information about state, DPS, and Denison Montessori attendance policies.  

  • If your family needs assistance in getting your child to and from school every day, please check out our SchoolPool program.  We are pleased to partner with Schoolpool, a free program to make it easier to get to school.  Signing up is simple, just click here for more information. This information will also be available at registration.   

  • With the transition to Discovery Link for before and after school care this year, Denison Montessori is excited to announce the return of after school enrichment programs.  Please read the DENISON FALL ENRICHMENT BROCHURE 23 to see if there is a course that interests your child.  Please e-mail enrichment_extendedlearning@dpsk12.org if you have any questions!  Denison also has ELCS programming that supports 6th grade students that are tuition based. The attached flyers highlight a great opportunity for DPS Middle school students to get their after school programs paid for. Please see the attached flyers for more information.

¡Ya casi es hora! Estamos encantados de dar la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes de 1.° a 6.° grado al año escolar 2023-2024 mañana, 21 de agosto. Esperamos que nuestros alumnos de kínder se unan a nosotros el martes 22 de agosto. Todas las clases de Primaria utilizarán las mismas puertas para la llegada y la salida. Las clases de primaria inferior y superior saldrán del mismo lugar que el año pasado.
