Good evening, Denison Montessori community. Can you believe the last week of the school year has finally arrived? We have enjoyed being a part of your child’s educational journey this year and look forward to seeing you again in August. For our families moving on from Denison Montessori at the end of this year, we wish you well. Due to summer construction, the last day the office will be open is June 5th. The main office will re-open on August 1st. Have a safe and happy summer!

Announcements

June 2nd is the last day of school and school will be dismissed early. ECE3 students will be dismissed at their regular time, while ECE4 - 6th grade dismissal time is 12:40 pm Sack lunch will be available to all students before leaving for the summer. Please remind your student to bring home all of their personal items, as construction is scheduled to begin on June 5th and our office will be closed starting June 6th. The main office will reopen on August 1st, 2023.
You should have received the following information from DPS concerning your child’s Chromebook: Over the summer of 2023, students in DPS-managed schools (non-charters) have an opportunity to check out a Chromebook and a Chromebook charger for use over the summer. This includes DPS students in K-11th grade returning to a DPS school for the 2022-23 school year. If you are interested in this option for your student, the parent/guardian must complete this Chromebook Check Out survey before Friday, May 19. Students who check out a Chromebook for the summer will bring the same Chromebook to their DPS school at the start of next school year. If you do not want your student to check out a Chromebook and charger for the summer, please ensure they return the Chromebook and charger to Denison Montessori by June 1, 2023, otherwise a MySchoolBucks fee will be added to their account for replacement costs.
If you have not already done so, please complete this 2 question survey that will help us plan for the 2023-2024 school year. It's really important that each family with a student in ECE3 - 5th grade takes a moment to answer. Your responses help us determine if we need to use our wait list to ensure that Denison meets our enrollment projections in order to receive all our budgeted funding from DPS. Thank you!
Denison is hiring for the 2023-2024 school year. We currently have full and part time paraprofessional positions available, as well as a Restorative Practices Coordinator position. If you are interested in learning more about these positions or how you can apply for one of them, please reach out to Juana Davalos at juana_davalos@dpsk12.net. Our DPS before and after care program, Discovery Link, is also hiring for a Program Leader and an Early Childhood Teacher. Please consider joining our team or sharing our openings with friends and family.

Please use this information to plan your child’s appointments, family absences, and timely pick up and drop off plans for the upcoming school year.
Last Day to take advantage of the Gently Used Book Sale is Tuesday. All books are $1.00 for hard covers and $ .50 for soft covers. Summer reading is invaluable to help kids prevent summer slide. Kids can even make gains and learn new.skills. The money raised is going to Son Flower Farms Animal Rescue. We will be selling books from 9:05-1:30PM Teachers can send kids down with money who want to purchase
Metro State University is offering two basketball day camps this summer for students going into 1st- 8th grade next year. If you are interested in enrolling your student in this camp, please see the attached flier.
