Good evening, Denison Montessori community! We managed to squeeze in one day Field Day last week and our Primary students had a wonderful time. Lower and Upper Elementary Field Day (1st - 6th grades) is rescheduled for Wednesday, May 31st, at 1:15 p.m. Please thank our fantastic PE teacher, Coach Brian Vamosy, for planning another pair of Field Day events for our students! We are holding our final spirit week of the year this week and you can find all the details for each day below. Enjoy this last full week of the year!

Announcements

Our Upper Elementary students are planning one last spirit week before we head to summer break. We invite students and staff to participate with our daily themes below.
- Monday - Mismatch/Backward Day
- Tuesday - Sports Day
- Wednesday - Creative Head Day (Hat/Hair)
- Thursday - School Colors (Purple/Green Day)
- Friday - PJ Day
Room 108 is bringing back the used book sale. If you have any books your family is finished enjoying, outgrown, or you just need shelf space, we'd love them. Our purpose is to help get them in the hands of happy new owners for a dollar or less. There is a marked box in the lobby where you or your child can drop off any gently used book until the end of day on Thursday, May 25th. Details of how your child can participate in getting some new-to-you books before the year is out are coming soon.
June 2nd is our last day of school and school will be dismissed early. ECE3 students will be dismissed at their regular time, while ECE4 - 6th grade dismissal time is 12:40 pm Sack lunch will be available to all students before leaving for the summer. Please remind your student to bring home all of their personal items, as construction is scheduled to begin on June 5th and our office will be closed starting June 6th. The main office will reopen on August 1st, 2023.
You should have received the following information from DPS concerning your child’s Chromebook: Over the summer of 2023, students in DPS-managed schools (non-charters) have an opportunity to check out a Chromebook and a Chromebook charger for use over the summer. This includes DPS students in K-11th grade returning to a DPS school for the 2022-23 school year. If you are interested in this option for your student, the parent/guardian must complete this Chromebook Check Out survey before Friday, May 19. Students who check out a Chromebook for the summer will bring the same Chromebook to their DPS school at the start of next school year. If you do not want your student to check out a Chromebook and charger for the summer, please ensure they return the Chromebook and charger to Denison Montessori by June 1, 2023, otherwise a MySchoolBucks fee will be added to their account for replacement costs.
If you have not already done so, please complete this 2 question survey that will help us plan for the 2023-2024 school year. It's really important that each family with a student in ECE3 - 5th grade takes a moment to answer. Your responses help us determine if we need to use our wait list to ensure that Denison meets our enrollment projections in order to receive all our budgeted funding from DPS. Thank you!
Time is running out to secure a spot for your student at Summer Connections! We're thrilled to announce that Fairview Elementary, Amesse Elementary, Trevista Elementary, Castro Elementary, Marrama Elementary and Newlon Elementary are still enrolling students. As the start of Summer Connections draws near, the sites are quickly reaching capacity. With a variety of hands-on experiences, including Inventor's Day (STEM), Lego Challenge Day, computer science, and career exploration -- your student will have the opportunity to explore their interests and passions in a fun and engaging way.
