Good evening, Denison Montessori community. The end of this school year is rapidly approaching but there are still many things to complete before we get to summer vacation. Please continue to ensure your child is at school on time every day so we can make the most of our remaining days. We hope to see you at Field Day on Thursday for ECE3, ECE4, and Kindergarten and Friday for our Lower and Upper Elementary students. Have a wonderful week!

Announcements

You should have received the following information from DPS concerning your child’s Chromebook: Over the summer of 2023, students in DPS-managed schools (non-charters) have an opportunity to check out a Chromebook and a Chromebook charger for use over the summer. This includes DPS students in K-11th grade returning to a DPS school for the 2022-23 school year. If you are interested in this option for your student, the parent/guardian must complete this Chromebook Check Out survey before Friday, May 19. Students who check out a Chromebook for the summer will bring the same Chromebook to their DPS school at the start of next school year. If you do not want your student to check out a Chromebook and charger for the summer, please ensure they return the Chromebook and charger to Denison Montessori by June 1, 2023, otherwise a MySchoolBucks fee will be added to their account for replacement costs.
DPS has shared their first version of their new safety plan and are asking for feedback. Please take a few minutes to go to this webpage and scroll down to the section titled Feedback Survey by Friday, May 19th. More input will lead to a better plan. Thank you for taking a few minutes for this important task.
If you have not already done so, please complete this 2 question survey that will help us plan for the 2023-2024 school year. It's really important that each family with a student in ECE3 - 5th grade takes a moment to answer. Your responses help us determine if we need to use our wait list to ensure that Denison meets our enrollment projections in order to receive all our budgeted funding from DPS. Thank you!

Denver Public Schools' Medicaid Department helps families apply for free or low-cost health insurance, including Health First Colorado (Medicaid) and CHP+ and SNAP food assistance. This department offers one-on-one appointments at any DPS school site. Additionally, they assist families with re-enrollment and utilizing their benefits. If you or anyone you know needs assistance, please contact DPS’s Outreach and Enrollment Specialists by calling 720-423-3661 or emailing outreach@dpsk12.org.
Join the Multilingual Education (MLE) Districtwide Advisory Committee (DAC) on Wednesday, May 17 from 5-7 p.m. at Bruce Randolph High School. This meeting will be a multicultural celebration and resource fair for families. Please see the fliers for more information. Register for the event here.
