Good evening, Denison Montessori community. I can’t describe the joy your children brought me upon my return to the building last week! It definitely reminded me of why I’m an educator and why I do this work. As we look to the upcoming week, we have nearly finished all of our state required CMAS testing and look forward to starting end of year projects, learning, and celebrations. There are also many parent education sessions coming up in the next few weeks, so please plan to join one or more of them. We hope to see you on campus for one of our events soon. Have a great week.

Our Denison Achieves virtual auction, which raises money for teacher wish lists, will not take place this week as scheduled. Save the Date, April 27th! Presenters, Dr. Katie Lohmiller and Halley Gruber from Educational Access Group (EdAG) will return to Denison to offer our community information on brain development and function, the impacts of stress and trauma, and what we can use and consider as caregivers and educators to best support our students. Content will be based on Dr. Bruce Perry's Neurosequential Model in Education (NME) and will be applicable to both new participants and those who attended the February session. Childcare and food will be provided, as well as Spanish and Vietnamese interpretation services. We hope to see you there!
DPS’s next ELA-DAC meeting will be on Wednesday, April 26 at Oakland Elementary, from 9:30 am - 11 am. This month information from the DPS Safety and Bully Prevention team will be shared. DPS recognizes that this topic is top of mind right now and we understand the importance of providing this information to our MLL families.

Denison Montessori will host our last ELA-PAC meeting of the 2022-2023 school year on Thursday, April 27th, from 9:45-10:30. Topics for discussion include managing big emotions, Summer Connections programming, and our Cinco de Mayo Festival. Interpretation services in Spanish and Vietnamese will be provided.
Raising Anti-Racist Children: A Practical Parenting Conversation, Virtual Webinar April 19th 6:00-7:00pm. The DPS Montessori Collaborative is excited to host antiracist and anti-bias educator and best-selling author, Britt Hawthorne. This workshop is perfect for all parents and caregivers hoping to raise children and teens who are empathetic, critical thinkers, and who embrace justice and activism. In this 60-minute virtual webinar, you'll learn how to use antiracist parenting principles to strengthen your child's self-love and advocacy skills. Britt will share concrete, manageable resources that can be added to your parenting tool box immediately. Join us on this Zoom link for this amazing opportunity!
We acknowledge that parking is a major challenge for our school and we never have enough close spaces to meet the demand.
