Good evening, Denison Montessori community. The forecast is calling for very cold temperatures tomorrow and Tuesday, and we are anticipating that the weather will not allow us to have outdoor recess before school. If you regularly bring your student before 9:05 for recess, please bring them to the main entrance on bad weather days if it is below 28 degrees, icy, or snowing. Students will have the option of going to the gym or eating breakfast until it is time to go to class. There will not be any supervision on the playground on bad weather days. Thank you for adjusting your routines for the safety of our students. Have a great week!

Montessori students have a unique opportunity to stay in elementary school for a 6th grade leadership year. Join the DPS Montessori schools to learn more about the 6th grade leadership year and options for middle school and beyond, including Denver Montessori Junior/Senior High School. All families of current 3rd-6th grade students are invited to join us for a virtual event on November 16th from 5:30-7:00pm. REGISTER HERE to ensure you get the most up to date information. Colorado Academy is inviting members of the Denison Montessori community to its annual HOPE event on Saturday, December 10th. Please see the attached flyers for information about this event and how to register for it.
DPS’s Southwest Community Hub has a sign up to receive a free Thanksgiving box. You must be able to pick up a box a the Broncos stadium, Lot B, 1701 Bryant St., on the date of the event. Please see the attached document for more information.
Colorado Food Cluster supports growing minds with healthy, free food. They believe that delivering fresh meals can help students learn, grow, and reach their fullest potential! Denison’s CSC met last week and would like to thank Ms. Christy for the use of her space since the library was occupied by the Book Fair. You can see the agenda and get information about the meeting from the minutes. These meetings are open to the public and you do NOT have to be a member to attend. We had a few guests attend November’s meeting and would love to see more families represented. Please email Ms. Natalie (nfickes@dpsk12.net) if you would like more information.
DPS is inviting family members to join the Multilingual Education Districtwide Advisory Committee (MLE DAC) meeting on November 16th, 5:00-7:00 pm. This meeting will be In-Person at Wyatt Academy, 3620 Franklin St, Denver, CO 80205. Child care and dinner will be provided. Please RSVP here to help determine the amount of food and childcare needed for our event.
