Announcements

Montessori students have a unique opportunity to stay in elementary school for a 6th grade leadership year. Join the DPS Montessori schools to learn more about the 6th grade leadership year and options for middle school and beyond, including Denver Montessori Junior/Senior High School. All families of current 3rd-6th grader students are invited to join us for a virtual event on November 16th from 5:30-7:00pm. REGISTER HERE to ensure you get the most up to date information. As we move into winter, we know there will be days when the weather will not allow us to have outdoor recess before school. If you regularly bring your student before 9:05 for recess, please bring them to the main entrance on bad weather days if it is below 32 degrees, icy, or snowing. Students will have the option of going to the gym or eating breakfast until it is time to go to class. There will not be any supervision on the playground on bad weather days. Thank you for adjusting your routines during bad weather days.
The Usborne Book Fair will open after school on Monday, November 7th, from 4:15-5:30. Another message with all the dates and details will be shared tomorrow. We hope you get a chance to visit and support your child’s literacy growth and Denison’s library by purchasing a book or two.
Denison’s Collaborative School Committee is meeting this Tuesday, November 8th, from 5:00 - 6:00. The location for this meeting will be room 202 since the library will be hosting the book fair. You can see the agenda for this meeting here. The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome!
Denver Public Schools is preparing to implement the Healthy Start Times initiative for the 2022-2023 school year. Denison Montessori has not been assigned new arrival and dismissal times as of this message. We do anticipate starting and ending earlier next year to align with the initiative. Please watch for more information about these changes as it becomes available.
DPS is inviting family members to join the Multilingual Education Districtwide Advisory Committee (MLE DAC) meeting on November 16th, 5:00-7:00 pm. This meeting will be In-Person at Wyatt Academy, 3620 Franklin St, Denver, CO 80205. Child care and dinner will be provided. Please RSVP here to help determine the amount of food and childcare needed for our event.
