Good evening, Denison Montessori community. We hope you have enjoyed Fall Break after a busy week filled with parent teacher conferences, the community meal, and all the love that was shown to our support staff. Thank you for all the flowers, notes, and contributions for the potluck!

Announcements

Denison Montessori would like to invite you to our first Coffee Talk, a time for parents, guardians, and family members to connect with Ely Lovell, School Psychologist, and Liana Karam, Social Worker. Coffee Talk gives parents a casual space to ask some of the topics you may be navigating as parents and support you and your students by providing time to ask questions and access resources. Don't worry, coffee will most definitely be provided! The first introductory Coffee Talk will take place on October 20th at 9:30 am in the Denison Library. We hope to see you there!
Denison Montessori will launch our first in person English Language Acquisition Parent Advisory Committee (ELA-PAC) on Thursday, October 27th at 9:45 a.m. This committee provides families with information about programming for our multi-lingual learners, increases communication between families of multi-lingual learners and schools, reviews programming for multi-lingual learners, and listens and responds to family concerns. Interpretation services are available for all ELA-PAC meetings. Please call the main office for more information. We hope to see as many of you as possible!
Denison’s Collaborative School Committee (CSC) met last week to discuss the marketing plan for the upcoming School Choice window, building safety, and staffing priorities. You can review the meeting minutes here. These meetings are open to the public and you don’t have to be a member of the committee to attend. We would love to see more of you on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the library. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 8th.
Denison Montessori is now a member of DPS’s Montessori Collaborative. Our collaborative is providing joint parent education opportunities for families at all of DPS’s Montessori Schools. Some of the upcoming opportunities include:
- Renowned author and conflict resolution expert, Donna Hicks, will be kicking off Lincoln Elementary’s first virtual Speaker Series this coming Monday, October 17th at 12pm. All parents, students and staff are invited to log on to this exciting "Lunch and Learn" event! Log on to our webinar on here. Contact Lincoln Elementary with any questions at 720-424-5990.
- Supporting Social Emotional Development, October 26, 5:30 - 7:00 pm Sandoval is hosting a virtual session about how to support children’s social emotional development. Some of the content at the end is specific to Sandoval, but most of the outcomes are relevant to all. Spanish interpretation will be provided. Google Meet link will be provided as the date gets closer.
- SAVE THE DATE: Nov. 16 from 5:30-7pm - Middle School Options The Montessori Collaborative will be hosting a virtual session for all DPS Montessori students in 3rd-6th grade to discuss different options for middle school and the benefits of each. Mr. Sheldon Reynolds, DMHS Principal, will share information about DMHS. More details and a Google Meet Link will be provided as the date gets closer
This year’s Thanksgiving meal will take place on Thursday, November 10th. Due to ongoing supply chain issues, the meal will be for students and staff only this year. We hope to be able to restore this community tradition for the 2023-2024 school year.
