Good evening, Denison Montessori community. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful first weekend of fall. It was wonderful to see so many families and Back to School Night and FDM’s Fun Run last week. As we head into October, we will have a lot of opportunities for engagement with the school and look forward to seeing families in the building more regularly. Please be sure to note that students do not have school this Friday, September 30th, as teachers have a planning and professional development day. Have a great week!

Announcements

October Count Day is coming and this year it will take place on Monday, October 3rd. This is the date that the state of Colorado uses to determine DPS’s attendance, enrollment, and funding. Please do not schedule any appointments for this date as we would love to have 100% attendance on this date, unless your child has developed COVID-like symptoms.
Lifetouch Pictures will take place on October 11th & 12th. Your child’s teacher will share the date and time for their class. Orders can be placed online at MyLifetouch.com. Event Code EVTZTBXRQ. The event code will be active until October 14th. Should you miss this deadline your next opportunity to order will be when your child receives his/her proofs. The proofs will have a unique access code and portrait ID # that can be used to place your order. Should you have any questions regarding orders please contact Lifetouch Parent Line at 1-800-736-4753. (add attachments)
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 13 from 4:30 - 8:00 pm and Friday, October 14th, from 9:00am - 1:00 pm. Your child’s teacher will share sign up information. Due to the limited number of conference slots, we ask that each family sign up for one slot only. If this is not possible due to extenuating circumstances, please work with your child’s teacher.
At Denison Montessori we value families as essential partners in children's education. In order to plan the most meaningful parent education sessions for you this year, we're seeking your ideas and feedback. Please complete this survey to support our planning process. Join DPS for a virtual Multilingual Education Districtwide Advisory Committee (MLE DAC) meeting on Sept. 28 from 5-6:30 p.m. At this session, families will receive important information and resources about Multilingual Education Programs, Parents’ rights and responsibilities, ESSA-Title I funds, and Career and College Month. Buenas noches, comunidad Denison Montessori. Espero que hayan disfrutado el hermoso primer fin de semana de otoño. Fue maravilloso ver a tantas familias y la Noche de Regreso a la Escuela y la Carrera Divertida de FDM la semana pasada. A medida que nos acercamos a octubre, tendremos muchas oportunidades de involucrarnos con la escuela y esperamos ver a las familias en el edificio con más frecuencia. Se acerca el Día del Conteo de Octubre y este año se llevará a cabo el lunes 3 de octubre. Esta es la fecha que usa el estado de Colorado para determinar la asistencia, inscripción y financiación de DPS. No programe ninguna cita para esta fecha, ya que nos encantaría tener el 100% de asistencia en esta fecha, a menos que su hijo haya desarrollado síntomas similares a los de COVID.
