Security Update

Good afternoon, Denison Montessori community. As I shared with you earlier today, Denison Montessori was put into a secure perimeter by DPS's Department of Security out of an abundance of caution due to suspicious activity close to the school. At no time was any staff member, student, or community member directly threatened verbally or physically.

A little bit later, while our Upper Elementary students (4th, 5th, and 6th graders) were outside at recess, our adults providing supervision made the decision to bring students back into the building early, again out of an abundance of caution, NOT related to any specific threats, due to a suspicious individual in the alley behind 7-11.

Our children may have strong emotions or concerns as a result of today's incidents. Our mental health support staff are checking in with individual students and will have contact with all of our classrooms this afternoon to provide support to them.

Please know that your child's safety and well-being is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we enacted the secure perimeter and brought students inside today.

Buenas tardes, comunidad Denison Montessori. Como compartí con ustedes hoy, el Departamento de Seguridad de DPS colocó a Denison Montessori en un perímetro seguro como medida de precaución debido a una actividad sospechosa cerca de la escuela. En ningún momento se amenazó verbal o físicamente a ningún miembro del personal, estudiante o miembro de la comunidad.

Un poco más tarde, mientras nuestros estudiantes de Upper Elementary (4.°, 5.° y 6.° grado) estaban afuera durante el recreo, nuestros adultos que brindaban supervisión tomaron la decisión de traer a los estudiantes de regreso al edificio temprano, nuevamente por precaución, NO relacionado a cualquier amenaza específica, debido a un individuo sospechoso en el callejón detrás del 7-11.

Nuestros hijos pueden tener emociones fuertes o preocupaciones como resultado de los incidentes de hoy. Nuestros apoyos de salud mental se están comunicando con estudiantes individuales y se comunicarán con todas nuestras aulas esta tarde para brindarles apoyo.

Tenga en cuenta que la seguridad y el bienestar de su hijo es de suma importancia para nosotros, razón por la cual promulgamos el perímetro seguro y trajimos a los estudiantes adentro hoy.

Chào buổi chiều, cộng đồng Denison Montessori. Như tôi đã chia sẻ với bạn trước đó hôm nay, Denison Montessori đã được Bộ An ninh của DPS đưa vào vòng vây an toàn trong tình trạng hết sức thận trọng do có hoạt động đáng ngờ gần trường. Không lúc nào bất kỳ nhân viên, học sinh, hoặc thành viên cộng đồng nào bị đe dọa trực tiếp bằng lời nói hoặc thể chất.

Một lúc sau, trong khi học sinh Tiểu học Thượng của chúng tôi (học sinh lớp 4, 5 và 6) đang ở ngoài giờ ra chơi, người lớn giám sát của chúng tôi đã quyết định đưa học sinh trở lại tòa nhà sớm, một lần nữa vì hết sức thận trọng, KHÔNG liên quan đối với bất kỳ mối đe dọa cụ thể nào, do một cá nhân đáng ngờ trong con hẻm phía sau 7-11.

Con cái của chúng ta có thể có những cảm xúc hoặc lo lắng mạnh mẽ do hậu quả của những sự cố ngày nay. Bộ phận hỗ trợ sức khỏe tâm thần của chúng tôi đang kiểm tra với từng học sinh và sẽ liên hệ với tất cả các lớp học của chúng tôi vào chiều nay để hỗ trợ các em.

Vui lòng biết rằng sự an toàn và hạnh phúc của con bạn là điều quan trọng hàng đầu đối với chúng tôi, đó là lý do tại sao chúng tôi ban hành vòng vây an toàn và đưa học sinh vào trong ngày hôm nay.
