Good evening, Denison Montessori community. It was quite lovely to have a full week of regular classes without the sweltering temperatures! Our students engaged in many challenging and beautiful works over the course of the week. We are excited for you to see much of it when you come to Back to School Night this week.

I have a special request for all of our families this week. PLEASE follow all posted signs for parking and the bus lanes while dropping off and picking up your children. This includes pulling to the curb to drop students off and to pick them up. Please do NOT ask your child to run between cars to get to you in the middle of the street as this is putting them in harms’ way. I have asked for support from DPS’s Safety department to ensure that not a single member of our community is at risk for harm as we get our students to and from class safely. Please be kind to anyone who asks you to follow a school expectation as we are all working to keep each other safe. Thank you!

Announcements

Back to School Night is now scheduled for Wednesday, September 21st, from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. The schedule is included as an attachment to this message. The event will start on the black top, so please come to the back of the building for a meet and greet with Ms. Natalie and other Denison teachers and staff. Adults will enter the building from the west side of the building once the classroom sessions begin. This event is for adults only. We will have outdoor child care available at no charge for children aged 3 and up. Please plan other care for children younger than three so that teachers can focus on getting adults the information about the new school year. Thanks for your understanding of this request.
Friday, September 23, Families of Denison Montessori are hosting the 3rd annual Denison Fun Run. Please read the attached information to see the schedule and class color assignment. Thank you for your support!
Denison’s Collaborative School Committee (CSC) held the first meeting of the year last week and you can read all about it in the CSC Minutes. The CSC invites all of our new families to take a few minutes to answer a short survey to help us think about how to best let potential new families learn about Denison. Any information you could share would be much appreciated. Thank you!
October Count Day is coming and this year it will take place on Monday, October 3rd. This is the date that the state of Colorado uses to determine DPS’s attendance, enrollment, and funding. Please do not schedule any appointments for this date as we would love to have 100% attendance on this date, unless your child has developed COVID-like symptoms.
The Denison community has been invited to attend an event named Gracias Christmas Cantata, courtesy of one of our wonderful families. You can watch the promotional video here and check out the attached document for more information, including a QR code for free tickets.

Buenas noches, comunidad Denison Montessori. ¡Fue maravilloso tener una semana completa de clases regulares sin las temperaturas sofocantes! Nuestros estudiantes participaron en muchos trabajos desafiantes y hermosos durante el transcurso de la semana. Tengo una petición especial para todas nuestras familias esta semana. POR FAVOR, siga todas las señales publicadas para estacionar y los carriles de autobuses cuando deje y recoja a sus hijos. Esto incluye acercarse a la acera para dejar y recoger a los estudiantes. NO le pida a su hijo que corra entre los autos para llegar a usted en el medio de la calle, ya que esto los pone en peligro. La Noche de Regreso a Clases ahora está programada para el miércoles 21 de septiembre de 5:00 a 6:30 p. m. El cronograma se incluye como archivo adjunto a este mensaje. El Comité Escolar Colaborativo (CSC, por sus siglas en inglés) de Denison celebró la primera reunión del año la semana pasada y puede leer todo al respecto en las Minutas del CSC. El CSC invita a todas nuestras familias nuevas a tomarse unos minutos para responder una breve encuesta que nos ayude a pensar en la mejor manera de permitir que las nuevas familias potenciales aprendan sobre Denison. Se acerca el Día del Conteo de Octubre y este año se llevará a cabo el lunes 3 de octubre. Esta es la fecha que usa el estado de Colorado para determinar la asistencia, inscripción y financiación de DPS. Back to School Night hiện được lên lịch vào Thứ Tư, ngày 21 tháng 9, từ 5:00 - 6:30 chiều. Lịch trình được bao gồm dưới dạng tệp đính kèm cho tin nhắn này. Sự kiện sẽ bắt đầu từ đầu, vì vậy vui lòng đến phía sau của tòa nhà để gặp gỡ và chào hỏi với cô Natalie cũng như các giáo viên và nhân viên khác của Denison.
