Dear KCAA Families,
Take some time to read this short newsletter that contains important information such as an upcoming meeting and graduation pictures.
TOMORROW: CPAC Meeting at KCAA from 5:30 - 7:30
The DPS Community Planning and Advisory Committee (CPAC) has a subcommittee called Pursuit of Passion. The CPAC committees are charged with discussing and planning how bond money will be allocated for 2024. The Pursuit of Passion subcommittee is specifically looking at funding for upgrades to the arts, athletics, and innovation in the district.
At this time, KCAA has been identified as a top priority for theatre renovations. Here is a slide from one of the meeting slide decks (3 of the 4 photos are from KCAA, indicating that we do indeed have a need for upgrades and renovations).
The idea is to make KCAA's theater and adjacent (performing arts) classrooms a hub for the community. One in which we could potentially rent out our facilities for community events that could help fund arts programing for our students.
This is an open meeting, all are welcome to attend. If you are interested in signing up for public comment, the link is above but sign up closes tonight at 5:30.

MAÑANA: Reunión de CPAC en KCAA de 5:30 a 7:30
Quería informarles a todos que el Comité Asesor y de Planificación Comunitaria (CPAC) de DPS tiene un subcomité llamado Pursuit of Passion. Los comités de CPAC están encargados de discutir y planificar cómo se asignará el dinero de los bonos para 2024. El subcomité Pursuit of Passion está buscando específicamente fondos para mejoras en las artes, el atletismo y la innovación en el distrito.
En este momento, KCAA ha sido identificada como una de las principales prioridades para las renovaciones de los teatros. Aquí hay una diapositiva de una de las presentaciones de diapositivas de la reunión (3 de las 4 fotos son de KCAA, lo que indica que efectivamente necesitamos actualizaciones y renovaciones).
La idea es hacer del teatro de KCAA y las aulas adyacentes (artes escénicas) un centro para la comunidad. Uno en el que potencialmente podríamos alquilar nuestras instalaciones para eventos comunitarios que podrían ayudar a financiar la programación artística para nuestros estudiantes.
