Newsletter 9/29/2023

Dear KCAA Families,

Please read this newsletter that contains important information and updates.

NOTICE:

Please note that if you are calling for your child's early release, students will not be pulled out of class via a phone call. Parents will need to come to the main office with a valid ID before students will be called down and released. There will be no exceptions so please plan your time accordingly. Also there will be no early release after 3:00pm as it is extremely disruptive to the end of day procedures. Thank You!

¡Gracias!

A message from Kunsmiller:

October Count Day this year is Monday, October 2nd.  The most important action you can take to support school funding is to make sure your student attends school on that day. Much of public education funding from the State of Colorado is based on student count, so we encourage you to make sure your student comes to school that day.

The “count window” the state observes is from Monday, September 25 through Monday, October 9, but the most important student count day is Monday, October 2. Help us get an accurate count by having your student participate in learning that day.

If your student will be absent on Monday, October 2 due to illness, please call our attendance line, 720-424-0207 to report the absence. Attendance during the “count window” will help counteract an absence on Monday, October 2.

Thank you for your support of Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy. Every student counts!

  •  DPS is conducting the Behavioral and Emotional Screening System (BESS) survey with students/teachers/parents. This screening provides a systematic, quick, and reliable way of assessing the behavioral and emotional strengths and potential risk levels in children and adolescents.  We ask that parents participate in completing the BESS survey for your child(ren) to help us understand if any students are in need of support. Please use the link to access the survey and refer to the Parent Flyer for additional information. Parent BESS survey
