Hello KCAA community,

With outside temperatures being forecasted in the high 90's as of late, I felt it was a great opportunity to fill you in on how Facility Management is helping to mitigate heat concerns. We start off our Monday by opening all windows to allow cool air to enter the building. Monday through Thursday night, windows are left to allow further cooling. Windows are left open only in rooms that do not pose any building access security concerns. We also log temperatures several times during the day. This helps us in communicating issues to our trained HVAC technicians who will then make any necessary repairs via a work ticket. We also have a maintenance request form that gives specific directions to streamline any health and safety concerns so that they can be handled more efficiently and effectively. While there are many challenges and channels that we must go through, it is important to protect yourselves as much as possible. Staying hydrated and wearing weather appropriate clothing helps when the weather is very hot. Thank you and I hope you have a great day.

                                                                           -Cedric Baca, Facility Manager
