Dear Families,
Our 3rd - 5th grade Family Fun night was a huge success last Thursday. We had over 140 people join us for a pizza dinner, games, and raptors. We learned all about the owl and hawk. Families tested the differences between luck and probability during the math challenge. Thank you to all the families who join us for the fun! Our next family night is dedicated to students in grades ECE-2. Save the date – February 13th.
Tonight: Black Family Online Celebration
We will host our next Black Family Engagement meeting tonight from 5:30-6:30 pm. All families are welcome to attend. This event will be on Google Meet at this link. Together we will honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., celebrate our scholars who made the Honor Roll, and get a chance to connect with other families. We are also raffling off on a $50 gift card to Walmart!
January 31st: Early Release Next Friday
Next Friday school will end at 1:00 so teachers have a chance to do extra planning for February. Discovery Link is running a free camp that afternoon from 1:00 - 5:00. Registration is required.
Immigration Resources for Families
DPS has a Family Resource Toolkit available in English and Spanish that contains information and resources about your rights, current DPS policies, training, mental health support, and a list of community resources.
Update Your Emergency Contacts
Families can now update students’ emergency contact information as needed throughout the school year and provide alternative contacts if no parent or guardian is available. Follow this step-by-step guide (also available in Spanish) to add, remove or modify emergency contact updates for students in Infinite Campus.
Parent Portal Login Support
Use this link if you forgot your Parent Portal login or password. You will need access to the email address associated with your Parent Portal account. You will need to submit a support ticket or call 720-423-3163 for the following:
- Failing usernames or passwords.
- Updating email addresses.
- Missing a student account.
ECE & Middle School Choice Window is Open
Barney Ford is recruiting ECE students for next year! We have space in our three-year-old and four-year-old classrooms for next year. Please help us spread the word about our amazing, safe, and fun ECE classrooms. Families interested in enrolling can talk with our office staff and learn more here.
If you have a 5th grader, it is time to submit your school application to enroll in your preferred Middle School. Learn more about the middle school choice process here.
Attendance Update
Last week our attendance inched back up to 90%. Please help us reach our school goal of 93%. The 5th graders had the best attendance again. This time they reached 93.6%. Our second and fourth graders are having an attendance competition between their classes. Last week Ms. Lerma & Ms. Torres’s classes won.
