Weekly Update: January 11, 2024

01/11/24, 5:32 PM

Dear Families,

Brrr.. It’s so cold outside. Please continue sending your child with warm layers. It looks like it will be even colder next week!

Tomorrow is a very busy day at Barney Ford. The Kindergarten classes have a field trip to the Children’s Museum. We will be doing vision testing in the community room. After school, 5th grade families are encouraged to visit with the middle schools that are coming to our Middle School Fair. The Fair is in the library and will be open until 3:30.

No School on Monday

Monday is Martin Luther King Day. There is no school for students or staff. Discovery Link will be closed on Monday as well. School resumes on Tuesday at 7:45.

STEM Family Night, January 18

Our January family night will be a celebration of math and science. Join us on Thursday, January 18th a pizza dinner, live animal demonstrations, and math games! RSVPs are due Friday, January 11th.

Attendance Update

Today we celebrated 14 incredible students who had perfect attendance in the first semester of school! We enjoyed a pizza party and shared what they love about school. We hope to see all of them at our end-of-the-year perfect attendance celebration.

Last week our attendance rate was 82.9%. This is much lower than our goal of 95%. With the holidays behind us, we encourage everyone to help us reach this goal. Fourth grade got closest to the goal last week with a rate of 90.5%.
