Dear Families,

 

We are so excited to see you at conferences this week! Remember that next week is Fall Break. Students return to school on Monday, October 16, 2023. However, there will be no DPS transportation that day. 

Friday: Coffee and Conversation

Please join us tomorrow, Oct 6th from 7:45-8:45 for Coffee and Conversation with the principals. At this event, we will vote for the Collaborative School Committee (CSC) members, learn about saving for college and career training, and answer your questions.

Arrival and Dismissal Traffic Safety

Thank you for helping us make arrival and dismissal so much safer this year! Our team of crossing guards and greeters appreciates you following their directions to maximize safety and traffic flow. 

 

Here are a few important ways to make things even better:

  1. No U-turns. Please do not make U-turns in front of the school. U-turns are very dangerous for our students and staff members.
  2. Keep driveways & RTD bus stops clear. Please do not park in front of people’s driveways or in the RTD bus stops. It is very important to keep these areas open at all times.

Candy, Chips and Drinks

Our students are learning about eating healthy and taking good care of themselves. To help with this please do not send large amounts of candy or big bags of chips to school. Large quantities of these treats often create conflicts between students and are not good for fueling learning.

 

Caffeinated drinks such as Prime and other sodas are not permitted at school. We have several filtered water bottle fountains throughout the school for students to fill up their water bottles. Read more about why Prime Energy drinks are not safe for kids here.

Attendance Update

Last week was our lowest attendance week. We only had 90.1% attendance and our goal is 95%. Please help us reach our goal in order to maximize your child’s learning. Fifth grade had the highest attendance of the school at 94%.
