Help us celebrate Ms. Gilchrist!

The Gazette launched Excellence in the Arts in 2023 to create an experience that recognizes

and celebrates students who are making incredible contributions to the visual, digital, and performing arts.

The program is a chance for patrons to hear the stories of student artists, and the people that are supporting their efforts.

This year, we received around 50 nominations from talented high school students around Eastern Iowa. We will be showcasing all students

nominated on a slideshow at the event.

Alburnett's very own, Mya Gilchrist will be honored at this year’s Excellence in the Arts event,

we encourage our Alburnett Community to help congratulate Mya at this exciting event!

Mark your calendar: Excellence in the Arts, March 24th at Theatre Cedar Rapids.

Doors will open at 2:00 PM with live artists, a pianist, student visual and digital art exhibits, and concessions.

The Gazette’s Diana Nollen and Rob Merritt will emcee the program, starting at 3:00 PM,

which will feature two youth advocate awards, eight student recognition awards for grades 9-12, and three local performances including Tone Da Boss.

Again, We home you can help Alburnett congratulate Mya Gilchrist for being honored at this year’s Excellence in the Arts event!
