Dear Archuleta families,

 

I am writing to share with you that our Art Teacher, Gene George, made the difficult decision to resign from teaching at Archuleta. He has been an invaluable member of our staff and community and we will miss him greatly. 

 

We are looking to secure a long-term substitute teacher in the classroom for the remainder of this school year. Until then, other familiar faces from our building or district-hired substitute teachers will be supporting your child during art class. 

 

Anytime young people face an unexpected change like this, it can be difficult to understand. Please let us know if your child is struggling to understand this change and we will have support staff available to speak with them.  

 

Please know that we will make every effort to ensure this transition is smooth and your child’s academic and social growth is not interrupted. Feel free to reach out to the office if your student needs support in processing this change or if you have any questions or concerns.
