1) ROUND 2 OF SCHOOL CHOICE OPENS APRIL 10TH

We are delighted to have had thousands of families complete their SchoolChoice Round 1 applications! Families will be notified of their matches in late March.

Applications for Round 2 will open on April 10 at 10 a.m.

Round 2 is for families who:

      • Missed the Round 1 window.
      • Have changed their minds since submitting a Round 1 application. If you are happy with your school placement following Round 1, you do not need to take part in Round 2.

The Teller Pantry has been providing some amazingly stellar supports for our Teller community! We are so grateful for them and all that they have done and continue to do.

We are reaching out to our community to ask if anyone is able to donate toothbrushes or works with a company that would be able to regularly donate toothbrushes.

9) MINUTES FROM FEBRUARY 27TH CSC MEETING

The Collaborative School Committee met on February 27 for their March monthly meeting (the meeting was held one week early due to Mrs. Bates leave).  Members of the Teller community are invited to read the Minutes.

During the meeting we discussed the results of a Traffic Meeting between Teller Administration, Councilman Hinds office, Department of Traffic and Infrastructure (DOTI) and Denver Police (DPD).  Each group has been working separately on traffic issues and this meeting allowed everyone to come together.  The Teller Community can expect to see updated street signage around the school, new crosswalk bars (with art to draw attention to them), pedestrian bollards at 12th and Garfield (and possibly 12th and Jackson), traffic trailers on eastbound 12th Ave., and increased traffic enforcement.  Teller is debating having families sign a safe drop off and pick up agreement next year and has the right to ban individuals who are consistently dangerous drivers from parking near the school.

Additionally school wide results of the Student Perception Survey were discussed.  Students in third to fifth grade take this survey in October which evaluates their teacher in three areas.  School wide, Teller outperformed the DPS Average in all three categories and overall.  Teacher use this data to improve their teaching and it is part of their performance data.

The next CSC Meeting will be held on Tuesday April 2 from 5-7 pm in the Teller Library.  We will be discussing the Teller Discipline Policy.  All members of the Teller Community are invited to attend the meeting.

CSC members want to ensure that all members of the Teller Community (parents, students, teachers, neighbors) feel informed, but that they also have a voice.  Please feel free to reach out to any CSC member with questions or concerns you might have.  CSC Members for the 2023-2024 school year include:
