Next week, the Collaborative School Committee (CSC) will be meeting on Tuesday February 27, 2024 from 5-7 pm in the Teller Library.  This is our regular monthly meeting for March, but the date was pushed back a week so that Mrs. Bates can attend prior to her leave.  All members of the Teller Community are invited to attend.  We will be sharing budget and enrollment updates, discussing election details for the 2024-2025 school year, discussing the traffic meeting and concerns, and reviewing the Student Perception Survey.  An agenda for the meeting can be viewed here.  There is time set aside during the meeting for Public Comment.

The CSC is a group of parents, teachers, and community members whose role is to advise and provide recommendations to our Administrative Team while bringing community and parent voice to the table.  The CSC primarily advises on the school's Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) and budget.  Additionally, the CSC provides input on program design changes, school and community engagement, principal evaluation/selection, and safety and discipline procedures.

CSC members want to ensure that all members of the Teller Community feel informed, but that they also have a voice.  Please feel free to reach out to any CSC member with questions or concerns you might have.  CSC Members for the 2023-2024 school year include:

9) Refugees, migrants and access to services

Colorado has recently welcomed many newcomers arriving from the Southwest border. New arrivals are often in need of many of the programs and services offered by county Human Service offices. Though these migrants may be fleeing similar circumstances as refugees, there are some crucial terminology and immigration status differences to understand, as human service departments assess individuals’ eligibility for benefits and services.

Check out this document created by the Colorado Office of Economic Security that lists out different resources for our Migrant and Refugee families.

The Family of Community Engagement is offering a Social Media Safety for Families Workshop on March 12 from 5-6 p.m. This session will provide resources and tips for families on the dangers of social media and how to help students stay safe and smart online. Families will gain valuable information and collaborate with other families on technology safety solutions.
