  1. Join us for a CSC Meeting on January 23!

The Collaborative School Committee (CSC) will be holding their monthly meeting on January 23, 2024 from 5-7 pm in the Teller Library.  All members of the Teller Community are invited to attend.  The main topic for this meeting is the Teller 2024-2025 Budget. An agenda for the meeting can be viewed here.  There is time set aside during the meeting for Public Comment.

Per state statute, “the CSC should provide guidance, evaluation, and recommendations to the Principal regarding priorities for spending school moneys”.  Each school receives a set amount of money for each student that is enrolled in the school (per pupil funding).  This money is budgeted at the discretion of the principal (with feedback from the Senior Leadership Team and CSC) to primarily hire staff to support school programs as well as fund supplies and technology.  During this meeting, Mrs. Bates will present a budget scenario(s) for next year.  The CSC will discuss the scenario(s) and make a consensus recommendation regarding the budget.  Please note that CSC members approach budget discussion and recommendations from a “positions, not people” viewpoint.  However, if budget discussions include information about staff positions that cannot remain anonymous, we may need to make part of the meeting a closed door session.

The CSC is a group of parents, teachers, and community members whose role is to advise and provide recommendations to our Administrative Team while bringing community and parent voice to the table.  The CSC primarily advises on the school's Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) and budget.  Additionally, the CSC provides input on program design Changes, school and community engagement, principal evaluation/selection, school schedules, and safety and discipline procedures.
