  1. Teller Pantry Friends

  • The Pantry was a resource to over 40 families last week! Ranging from a few pieces of produce to food for the entire weekend, we had the pleasure of seeing families take what they would use while leaving enough for others. Our hearts are full of gratitude for you, our supportive and thoughtful community.
  • Would you like to join us and help ensure the program remains successful in meeting the needs of any Teller family that would like to access it?! There are numerous opportunities, check them out HERE
  • And have you heard, we are in the process of changing our name?! With a focus on open pantry and client choice, we feel our new name, Teller Pantry Friends is unmistakable in projecting how we strive to meet our mission. Come check out our new signage!
  • Pantry hours are every Tuesday, 12:30-2:30pm and every Friday, 7:15-9:30 am & 12:30-5:00pm. As always, everything in the Pantry is free and we welcome all Teller families, no questions asked!
  • Teller Garden Update - Volunteers Needed

Today our students will begin to harvest from the garden to provide food for the Teller Food Pantry.  Each kindergarten, second and third grade class will have the opportunity to come out and harvest in the garden.  (Our ECE, first, fourth and fifth grade classes help out in the garden in other ways.)  This is a great opportunity to learn where our food comes from and to help others in our community.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with the harvests on Monday and Thursday mornings.  Volunteers will come for 90 minutes and help students wash hands, find produce, harvest correctly, rinse and weigh the produce.  No previous garden experience is needed.  To sign up, please visit the Sign Up Genius.  All volunteers must have completed a DPS Volunteer Background Check.

  2. Opportunity for Volunteering with Kindergarteners!

We are in need of a few more volunteers this year to help students with individual practice learning letter sounds and counting numbers. Letter sound practice is 8:30-9:20 each morning, and counting practice is 11:50-12:15. Volunteers will be provided with training prior to volunteering.

Volunteer commitment is one hour per week in person at Teller. Volunteers can be anyone who wants to support our school - Teller parents, grandparents, neighbors and friends!

All volunteers will be required to submit a background check and can do so here.

Best,
