Fall Registration Closes Today!

  • All families (current and new) must complete fall registration via Parent Portal by 5pm today, August 11th. Failure to do so could result in your child(ren) missing the first day of school.
  • If this is your first time using Parent Portal and you need support navigating this online platform, check out the Family Navigation Guide
  • If you do not have your child’s student number, you can retrieve it here

Assessment Day Child Care Available

  • If you are in need of child care on Monday, August 21st and/or Tuesday, August 22nd and you are not already registered for Discovery Link, you can reach out to Shelley St. John (a former Teller parent who provides after school child care for many of our families). You can call or text her at 720-244-2208. Please note that Shelley will not be able to bring students to and from Teller for assessments.

Emergency Procedures

  • We at Teller take student and staff safety very seriously. With that being said, I wanted to inform you that we are required to conduct various emergency procedure drills throughout the school year. Our first drill will be a fire drill which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6th at 9:30 a.m.

  • For new students who have never experienced a fire drill before, here is a short video you can share with your child so they know what to expect during the fire drill.

Visitors

  • For the safety and security of all of our students and staff, we have a strict visitor protocol.
  • Entrance to the building will only be granted through the main entrance (Door 1) off of Garfield St. This is our single point of entry. If you try to enter the building at any other entrance, access will not be granted and you will be asked to use the main entrance.
  • All visitors must check-in at the front desk and obtain a visitors badge. In order to obtain a visitors badge, you will need a physical ID as we utilize Raptor, which screens and tracks anyone who enters the building.
  • During morning drop-off, staff members will be monitoring entrance to the building at all exterior doors. If parents/guardians would like to walk their students to class, they will be asked to come to the main entrance to obtain a visitor badge.
  • Students who are being picked up during the day will only be released to authorized (designated in IC) individuals. If an adult is picking up a student and is not in IC as an authorized individual, they will not be released without permission from the student’s legal guardian.

Volunteering

  • We love to have parents and family members volunteer in classrooms. All volunteers are required to go through a district background check before volunteering. Applications for this can be found here. If you have completed a background check in the past, you must complete a new one at the start of every school year. Check-in procedures are the same as the visitor protocol above.

Girls on the Run

  • Girls on the Run is back at Teller this fall. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. starting the week of September 11th. The season will culminate with a 5k race on November 12th at Empower Field. Registration is open and will close on Sunday, September 10th. Registration is open to girls in 3rd through 5th grade and costs $195 per person (scholarships available). To register, click here. Spam Folder

  • Denver Public School has strong security measures in place to ensure that all of our technology platforms are secure and safe for students and staff. Because of these security measures, there are times when parent/guardian emails end up in our spam folders. We pride ourselves on a 24 response window, so if you haven’t heard back from a Teller staff member within that window, please reach out again.
