Lion King Performances

Join us this week for three separate performances of The Lion King. Each of our 5th grade classes will be performing on a specific day (listed above) from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in our auditorium.

Take a sneak peek at a few reviews from our Principal for the Day, Dean of Instruction for the Day, and Dean of Culture for the Day. They had the opportunity to watch today’s performance and write reviews.

"The art was amazing. Some of them sang very well. The glowing things were good."

  • Emmett W.

"It was a fantastic  performance. In the second half it was magical. The lights turned out and they sang and danced with finger lights. It was outstanding."

  • Piper K.

"I would recommend it to the parents because it was exciting to watch and entertaining and what Mrs.Bartos did well as in one part Puma and Timon were told to distract the hyenas and they did the hula dance and that was really funny. They need to work on getting the speakers ready before it starts because there were some parts that were squeaky and that was not good but everything else was great."

  • Avery R.

Teller’s Book Swap

Our students will have the opportunity to participate in our annual Book Swap this week. Each class will visit the Book Swap and “shop” for books of their choice. We will open the Book Swap to our community on Thursday, May 25th from 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. If you’d like to “shop” the Book Swap, please enter the building through the main entrance and check-in in the office before heading to the library.

Volunteers Needed for Summer Garden Maintenance

We are in need of families to help us maintain the Teller Garden over the summer so that our vegetable plants can thrive and be able to produce as much food as possible for the Teller Backpack Friends program this fall.  Families can sign up for one day (or more if you want) of maintenance which will include weeding, tying up tomato plants, organic pest control (knocking insects off with water), watering the front planters, and any other task as needed.  We are looking for volunteers to come in on Monday, Thursday and Saturdays throughout the summer at a time convenient to you.  Sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0548A9A62FA2F94-teller

Fall 2023-2024 Enrichment Update

The following information was sent out via our app yesterday:

As we prepare for the end of the school year, we are already planning for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. I am excited to announce that Cheryl Ruiz will be our Dean of Operations. Cheryl will be supporting Teller in a variety of ways, but her main focus will be on after school enrichment opportunities.

We have had several new vendors reach out requesting the opportunity to offer after school classes at Teller. Our hope is to partner with as many high quality programs as possible so we are able to offer a variety of classes Monday through Friday next school year.

With that being said, we have made the decision to push after school enrichment registration to Wednesday, July 26th. Registration will open at 6am this day. This will allow prospective vendors the opportunity to complete the necessary steps required to offer classes at Teller during the 2023-2024 school year.

Additionally, we recently learned that “new to Teller families” will not have access to MySchoolBucks until July 1, 2023. We want to ensure that all families (current and new) have an equal opportunity to register for after school enrichment classes at the same time.

You can continue to access our catalog here as  Cheryl and I will continue to push after school enrichment updates via our app throughout the summer so families are alerted when a new vendor is added.

In the meantime, if you don’t have a MySchoolBucks account set up, please do so my click here. As a reminder, if you are a “new to Teller family” you will not be able to set up an account until July 1st.

We can’t wait to take on this new endeavor, and we thank you for your ongoing support!

Teller’s Field Closed: May 24th @ 3:15 p.m.

After school Discovery Link will need full access to our field on Wednesday, May 24th starting at 3:15 p.m., so we will be closing it to the public. Thank you for your help in exiting the field no later than 3:15 p.m.

A Message from our Nurse

All medications and medical equipment must be picked up from the school health office by 06/02/2023 @ 11:35 am. Please make a plan with the school nurse Kim for pickup. Her email address is K_Rivera-Garcia@dpsk12.net and direct phone number is 720-424-3588. The student cannot take the medication home with them. Summer Programming: If your student is participating in a summer program, the parent/guardian must pick up the medication/equipment on the last day of school and bring it to the summer program on the first day.  You can find medication forms for the upcoming year here. Have a great summer!

Girls Soccer Opportunity

Hi! My name is Maggie and I am a parent to a 4th grade girl who attends Bromwell Elementary. Her team has been playing Rapids Rec+ soccer the last 3 years, and it has been a great group of girls and families! Several girls have decided to go a more competitive route, but we have 4-5 girls who would like to continue to play together at the rec+ level. Ideally, we would like to have practices at Bromwell. If your child is interested in joining our team, please contact me at 630-863-5100.

Open Pantry: Thursday, May 25th & Friday, May 26th

Remember to come and shop our food pantry on Thursday, May 18th and Friday, May 19th. An updated inventory list will be available on Wednesday, May 17th by clicking here

Tomato Cages Needed for Teller Garden

The Teller garden is in need of 24 tomato cages to help support our growing vegetables.  If you have any 33" or 42" tomato cages that you no longer need, we would love to have them!  Please contact Lisa Davis at lisa@denverdavis.com to arrange a time to drop them off.

Sign Up for Transportation Services by June 16th

The Transportation Opt-in Program is now live on the Parent Portal. If your student is eligible and you would like them to use DPS Transportation in the 2023-24 school year, please opt-in now. Click here for instructions on how to opt-in. Families have until Friday, June 16 to let us know if your eligible student will be using our services next school year. If you don’t opt-in by June 16, your student could experience a delay in service. Note: McKinney-Vento, Special Education, Foster Care and newcomer students will not need to opt-in because they will automatically be routed for 2023-24 transportation service.

Longmont Dairy Milk Caps

Teller families have been collecting Longmont Dairy caps all year. Milk caps for MOOOLA is a program sponsored by Longmont Dairy that helps students earn money for their school and students. Longmont Dairy milk caps are worth 5¢ each and are redeemable for cash by participating schools. Our last day to collect milk caps is Wednesday, May 31st.

Families can continue to collect caps throughout the summer and bring them to school at the start of the 2023-2024 school year, or you can drop them off at Capitol Heights Pharmacy who will be collecting caps on our behalf during the summer months.
