Teller Town Hall

In an effort to create more opportunities for the Teller community to hear from, and provide feedback to, school and community leaders, we are excited to announce a new initiative this year, the Teller Town Hall. Once a trimester, the PTA will be utilizing the monthly PTA meeting time slot to facilitate a panel of leaders to speak about topic areas identified by YOU, the Teller community.

To kick things off, we need your help! Please email communications@tellerpta.org with your top 3 topic areas of interest by Friday, September 30th.

Once the results have been collected, the topic(s) for the first Teller Town Hall will be announced prior to our first Town Hall meeting on October 18th. There will also be an opportunity for you to send in questions for leaders in advance. You can also ask questions during the event.

Thank you in advance for letting us know what YOU want to hear about. Be sure to keep an eye out for more information about the Teller Town Hall in future Pride Posts!

Teller’s Fall Festival

Join us for our 2nd annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 28th from 4:40 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Our Fall Festival is free for all participants and will include a Trunk-or-Treat, pumpkin patch, costume contest, outdoor dance party, and fresh-pressed apple cider.

We are looking for parents/guardians who are willing to decorate their vehicles or tables (tables will be provided by the school) and hand out candy from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. If interested, you can sign up here. Spots and tables are limited, so sign up today!

If you are in need of Trunk-or-Treat ideas, you can check out some creative ideas here.

We are collecting donations of individually wrapped candy, apples for fresh apple cider and/or pumpkins for our pumpkin patch. Donations of Individually wrapped candy and pumpkins can be dropped off at the main entrance starting Monday, October 4th.

Donations of apples for fresh apple cider can be dropped off at the main entrance starting Monday, September 19th.

New Bike to School Committee Opportunity

The PTA is excited to spearhead a new and expanded community bike / walk program that will support Teller's commitment to a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for our students. Our goal is to launch on October 12th, which is National Bike to School Day. We are in the process of partnering with local organizations to provide school-wide safety training, online mapping and coordination, as well as planning fun, supportive events for all students. Please consider lending your talents and time to drum up support and excitement. If interested, please contact: membership@tellerpta.org.

Central Air Conditioning Update

Although we have had more seasonal weather the past few days, we can’t forget about how hot our building has been the past month. At this point, Teller is on the list to receive air conditioning, however, there are 53 other schools on the same list. Schools on the list are prioritized by a composite ranking system consisting of temperature, building utilization and an equity index. Schools 25 and higher will receive air conditioning during the next phase once funding has been secured.

Meal Benefits Update

The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program. It provides a nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunch to children each school day. Children, who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals, may also qualify for other fee waivers.

All families must fill out a meal benefits application whether you choose to opt-in or opt-out. Online applications are the fastest and easiest way to apply for meal benefits.

Totally Teller
