Better Together!

As Teller and the PTA continue to collaborate on ways to make Teller Elementary School the best school in Denver, we have made the decision to combine the PRIDE Post and PTA Roar Report.

Additionally, we will be working as one to organize warm, welcoming events community events that support all children. We can't wait to share what we have in store for the 2022-2023 school year.

After School Enrichment Reminder

As a reminder, all after school enrichment classes begin on Monday, September 12th. If you have any questions about after school enrichment, please contact cheryl_ruiz@dpsk12.org.

Farmers' Market Success

Ms. Schwarz's 5th grade class did a fantastic job organizing, advertising, and selling fresh produce at our Farmers' Market yesterday. Ms. Schwartz's class decided to donate dll proceeds earned yesterday's Farmers' Market to #TeamSeas, a nonprofit ocean cleanup project.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has donated to our Farmers' Market. Your ongoing support means the world to our students!

Next up, Mr. Gray's 5th grade class on Friday, September 16th.

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Dine for Teller event at Birdcall last Tuesday. We raised $276.67 for Teller Elementary School!

CSC Meeting

Join us for our very first CSC meeting of the 2022-2023 school year on Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All CSC meetings will be held in-person in our library. If you are unable to attend the CSC meeting, minutes will be posted on our website.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Teller will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month beginning on September 15th. Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration of the history and culture of the U.S. Latinx and Hispanic communities. We have partnered with Bryant-Webster Dual Language School and a local Flamenco dance group to provide our students with live Mariachi music and Flamenco dancing on Thursday, October 13th.

We Appreciate You!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Dine for Teller event at Birdcall last Tuesday. We raised $276.67 for Teller Elementary School!

We Need Your Help!

Our PTA is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of things:

  1. Totally Teller

    • Totally Teller will be IN PERSON this year on November 12th. We are so excited for a return to an in-person event! Be sure to keep an eye out for more details! If you or anyone you know is interested in donating auction items, or if you are interested in helping out with this event, please contact Emily Musser at fundraising@tellerpta.org. Some popular items from previous auctions have been: time at vacation homes; unique experiences in and around Denver; tickets to museums, sporting events, etc.; as well as gift cards for restaurants, services, classes and camps, etc. Thank you for your support! The link to the auction item form will be available soon.

  2.  Teller’s Backpack Friends Program

  3. Teller Tutors

    • Teller Tutors is an early intervention, community led program that assists our Kindergarten students and teachers with one-on-one literacy support. Commitment of about one hour per week with our kindergarten students. You do not need to be a parent of a kindergarten student - we love parents of older kids, grandparents and neighbors too! Training session is Thursday, September 15, 3:00 p.m. Contact membership@tellerpta.org for more information.

  1. Committee Work Initiative

    • This year, the PTA is looking to expand its volunteer base by offering opportunities to get involved with specific initiatives. If you are interested in lending your talents and passion to Sustainability, Bike to School, or Diversity & Inclusion, please contact membership@tellerpta.org.

Slow Food Program

Little Sprouts Program from Slow Food Denver will be holding classes in 22 different schools (including Teller) beginning next week. We are looking for volunteers to assist our instructors throughout class. You will be connected to your instructor at the beginning of the week that you signed up for so you are aware of where to go once you arrive at school. These opportunities are extremely fun and rewarding!  Please use the link provided here to sign up for a day/ time/ location that works for you.
