First Friday Reading Buddies

Today we hosted First Friday Reading Buddies. Our ECE - 5th grade students spent time getting to know each other and sharing a variety of books. We will continue First Friday Reading Buddies all year, so make sure to ask your child about it.

If you have any questions about First Friday Reading Buddies, feel free to reach out to our Dean of Culture, Mr. Smartt

Teller’s Farmers' Market

We closed out the day with a successful Farmers’ Market. Our ECE students did a fantastic job preparing flower bouquets to sell, while our 5th grade students (Mr. Kraft's class) did a wonderful job advertising, pricing, and selling fresh produce. Next up, Ms. Schwarz’s class on Friday, September 9th from 2:35 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

PTA Meeting: Tuesday, September 6th

Teller Elementary PTA’s first meeting will be held on Tuesday, September. 6th from 6:10 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. You do not need to be a member to attend. Gifted and Talented Info Night

It’s Almost Time…

Next Friday, September 9th is Teller’s Community Block Party! We are so excited to be hosting this fun-filled  event again this year. We will have a variety of food trucks, inflatable obstacle course, rock climbing wall, Jacob’s Ladder, dunk tank, 4-way bungee trampoline, and Disney’s Encanto movie shown under the stars.

Families will have the opportunity to purchase Teller wear at this event. T-shirts will be available for $15 and water bottles for $5. If you are interested in purchasing any Teller wear, visit our PTA table that will be located on the blacktop.

iOrthodontics will be providing free popcorn to all movie goers. Popcorn distribution will begin at 7:45 p.m.

As a reminder, gates open at 4:00 p.m. with attractions ending at 7:45 p.m. New (and exciting) this year…our PTA will be giving away 12 free new bicycles between 7:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., so families will definitely want to ensure they enter the drawing (located at the PTA table) in hopes to win.

Encanto will begin at 8:00 p.m.

This year, we have been given approval from The City of Denver to close both Garfield St. and Jackson St. between 11th Ave. and 12th Ave. All attractions will be on Garfield St. and Jackson St. Food trucks will be stationed in the staff parking lot. The movie screen will be on the field with plenty of room for blankets and lawn chairs.

Please help us make this event one to remember by inviting your family, friends, and neighbors. For more information, or to print a flier, please click here.

Teller attendance is not required, however adult supervision is.

If you are interested in helping out at this year’s block party, please email Alexis Donovan to sign up.

CSC Voting Now Open

This committee meets on a regular basis throughout the school year and is an opportunity for key stakeholders to have a voice in their school.

Please take a moment to vote for one parent/guardian representative to serve on Teller’s CSC for the 2022-2023 school year. To vote, click here

Shared Streets

In 2020 and 2021, Denver established nine temporary Shared Streets to create safe and comfortable space for residents to walk, bike, roll, and play. 11th Avenue through Congress Park was one of those temporary Shared Streets.

These streets used short-term traffic calming methods to reduce vehicle trips and speeds which resulted in a significant increase in people walking and biking on these corridors. Based on this success, the City of Denver is creating a permanent Shared Streets Program.

To develop the future Shared Streets Program, the City will assess the success of the temporary shared streets, develop a set of design guidelines, and determine where Shared Streets could be implemented across the City.

The City is currently surveying the community for input on 11th Avenue. If you would like to learn more or take the survey please visit this site below.

Longmont Dairy Milk Caps

Teller Elementary School collects milk caps from Longmont Dairy. For every cap collected, Longmont Dairy donates $0.05 back to the school. The black collection can is back, just inside the school front entrance.  This bin is for Longmont Dairy Milk Caps only.  Please don't put trash in there; it is not emptied regularly.

Before you bring them in,

1) Rinse them

2) Let them dry

3) Place them in a bag and seal or tie it up
