Multi-Intensive Autism Center

As an inclusive school, MIA students integrate into grade-level classrooms with the support of a paraprofessional. People with ASD may communicate, interact, behave, and learn in ways that are different from other people, and we are committed to providing an inclusive educational environment for these and all students. For more information about Autism, please check out this website.

A Note From Teller’s PTA

Hello, Teller Families! Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

We were thrilled to see so many new and returning families at the Popsicles on the Playground event last week. Staff, families, and even the Teller Tiger, seemed excited to start the school year with Tiger PRIDE!

We want to specifically thank the 132 people who signed up as new or returning PTA members already this year, through the School Supplies fundraising effort or in other ways - we look forward to working with you to support Teller staff this year through various events and activities.

The PTA has a goal to create an inclusive community of parents and school staff to ensure that our students have the best learning experience possible. In order to reach this goal, we’re committed to the following:

  • Transparent and open communication through PTA meetings, the ROAR Report, and future opportunities;

  • Partnering with Teller Leadership and staff to support community events throughout the year;

  • Raising money to enrich the Teller learning environment through fundraising events, projects like School Supplies sales and through the monthly giving program, Simply Giving;

  • Fostering the inclusion of families of all backgrounds in the PTA to better represent the Teller student population; and,

  • Celebrating the generous and welcoming spirit and actions of the entire Teller community. YOU are what makes this community thrive!

As you likely know, the PTA is the entity responsible for raising money to provide critical resources for general school purposes including campus beautification (like the Teller garden and art murals) and school improvements (like window blinds, water filtration and air purification systems). The PTA also supports Teller leadership and staff by providing appreciation events (like coffee bars and meals), and through purchasing resources that will help amplify the learning experience for Teller students (like well-being curriculum, new technologies for the classroom, and professional development for staff through the Teller Staff Grant).

This year, the PTA plans to lean into supporting Teller leadership to help amplify and increase access to more no-cost community events. In doing this, we hope to help foster an environment where all families feel welcome and included in the school community at large. Teller leadership staff already have several fun events planned that the PTA will support. We look forward to exploring additional creative ways to make this happen.

Keep your eyes out for multiple volunteer opportunities- we would love for you to join in facilitating the various Teller events this year! If you are interested in joining the PTA, please visit https://www.aplos.com/aws/give/TellerPTA/PTAMembership
