RSV Announcement
11/17/22, 12:38 PM
Hey Howell family,
I am sharing these announcements/forms that were sent to me from the Denver Public Health and Environment Department (DPHE) regarding the influx of RSV cases.
The most important pieces of information are as follows:
• Ill students are strongly encouraged to stay at home for 72 hours following the onset of their new respiratory symptoms.
• Additionally, ill students should be kept home until they are 24 hours fever free (without use of fever reducing medication) and until respiratory symptoms start to improve.
This means that even a new cough (that does not have to be accompanied by a fever) means that your child needs to stay home and, in order to come back to school, they need to be fever free for 24 hours without medication.
Attached is some information about RSV transmission, symptoms, and care.
Please reach out with any questions.
We are almost to break! Hang in there!
