Health Office Note

Just a quick note from Children's Hospital: "The number of children testing positive for influenza A continues to steadily increase and now far surpasses those of SARS-COV-2. Although the overall burden of influenza disease remains low, this trend of rising influenza cases is being reported nationally by the CDC. There is rising concern that we may experience a late winter/early spring influenza surge. This is a continued reminder that respiratory season is still here and it is not too late to get your flu vaccine."

We are also seeing an increase in stomach bugs around the community, as well as here at Howell. While we work hard to help prevent the spread of these types of illnesses, and work on disinfecting surfaces and encouraging frequent handwashing, I remind families that students with vomiting or diarrhea should remain home until they have been 24 hours with fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.
