COVID Vaccine Clinic for Ages 5-11 (Nov 15)

*Please make the appointment during a time in which you can come to school to check them out of class and walk them through the clinic, we have very limited staffing and will not be able to pull students from class to take them through the Colorado Public Health COVID clinic.

Exciting news! With FDA authorization, the CDC has recommended that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer vaccine.
Get your students vaccinated in time for the holidays, protect them and their loved ones.

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will be at Farrell B. Howell ECE-8 School on Monday, November 15th from 1 PM to 7 PM to provide COVID vaccines for anyone age 5 or older.

The vaccines are free and no ID, insurance or proof of medical history is required.

COVID-19 cases in children can result in hospitalizations, deaths, MIS-C (inflammatory syndromes) and long-term complications, such as “long COVID,” in which symptoms can linger for months. The spread of the Delta variant resulted in a surge of COVID-19 cases in children throughout the summer. 

Vaccination, along with other preventative measures, can protect children from COVID-19 using the safe and effective vaccines already recommended for use in adolescents and adults in the United States. Similar to what was seen in adult vaccine trials, vaccination was nearly 91 percent effective in preventing COVID-19 among children aged 5-11 years. In clinical trials, vaccine side effects were mild, self-limiting, and similar to those seen in adults and with other vaccines recommended for children. The most common side effect was a sore arm.
