KIPP Northeast Denver Middle School

4/5: National Student Walkout Day

04/05/23, 12:13 PM

Dear KNDMS Families,

It is our priority to keep you informed of incidents related to student safety. Earlier today, a group of our students walked out in support of the National School Walkout day to end school violence.

Our students walked from our campus to the KNDMS Soccer Field. Students were then directed to the campus cafeteria to have a peaceful, meaningful conversation with their peers and staff. I, along with other staff members, listened to our students’ voices and joined their conversations.

School staff and members of the DPS Dept. of Safety were with the students throughout their walk. At no time were our students or staff in any danger.

I would like to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students is our number one priority at KIPP Northeast Denver Middle School. We encourage our students to use their voices in a peaceful way, and I am proud of the way they handled themselves today.

We are continually committed to providing a platform for students to use their voice. As always, please feel free to contact me should you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Stephani Olson

KNDMS Principal
