KIPP Northeast Denver Middle School

Unfounded Threat

09/23/22, 4:33 PM

As you know, student safety and well-being are our highest priorities at KIPP Colorado. With that in mind, I am writing to inform you of a recent incident at our school. Upon investigation by DPS Safety & Security, the threats have been determined to be unfounded and the campus was deemed safe prior to student arrival.

Additionally, in an unrelated incident, one of our KNDMS students assaulted a staff member today. The staff member is physically okay. We are working in alignment with DPS Safety & Security to determine next steps. We are one Team and Family, and the events of the last day have been highly disconcerting for all of us. As educators, we work tirelessly to ensure that our students are safe, cared for, and in an environment conducive to learning. Let’s work together to ensure that our campus is a safe space for all.

I understand that these incidents can be highly upsetting and triggering for many of us. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to Stephani Olson, Principal of KNDMS, at soloson@kippcolorado.org.
