Dear KNDLA, 

Student safety and their well-being are our highest priorities at KIPP Colorado. KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy has been placed on Secure Perimeter by Denver Public Schools Safety & Climate out of an abundance of caution resulting from a situation at Rocky Mountain Prep RISE, with whom we share the Groff Campus. We are actively monitoring and supporting the situation, and all students are safe. 

A secure perimeter is called when there is activity in the surrounding area outside of the school. During a secure perimeter, all exterior doors are locked and no one is permitted to enter or exit campus. 

Again, all students and staff are safe inside the building, and we are continuing learning as usual. 

We will notify you of any developments or updates, if necessary.
