Wellness Tips

Coping Skill of the Month - Deep Breathing

  • Deep Breathing helps you feel better when you are angry, nervous, anxious, or any big negative emotion.
  • Take deep breaths in and out, slow and long. Do this 5 times.
  • You HAVE to practice Deep Breathing or it won’t work. Just like you practice for sports, play instruments, or learn new skills.
  • Practice this with your child! Deep Breathing benefits everyone!

Talking About Mental Health at Home

  • Check on your student and ask how they are doing. Let them know that you care about them and their mental health.
  • Show them how you care by being a good listener and considering things from their point of view.
  • Help your student feel supported and heard! This will help create a strong bond between you and your student.
