Greetings Bulldog Families,

We are having an amazing start to Black History Month and Semester 2! We are honoring this important month through shared facts and information, as well as celebrations of history, culture, and contributions from across the diaspora. 

We are looking forward to seeing our families at Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday 2/15! Please ensure you have scheduled your time with your student’s advisor. 

Monday, February 19th is the President’s Day holiday and school will be closed. Students and staff return on Tuesday 2/20. 

As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, our high school is excited to host two opportunities designed to inspire and inform our high school students:

1. Black History Month College and Career Panel by SuitUp

Date: Monday, February 27th

Time: 1-2 pm

Location: Virtual - Hosted in the Future Center by College Success

Join us for an enriching virtual panel discussion featuring accomplished Black professionals from various industries. This year, we aim to underscore the importance of inclusivity, with a theme centered on ensuring that all scholars have a seat at the corporate table. It's a fantastic opportunity to interact with, and learn from, Black leaders who have made significant strides in their fields. Your questions and participation are highly encouraged!

2. HBCU Presentation by DSST Leaders

Date: Thursday, February 29th

Time: 12-1 pm

Location: Future Center

We are thrilled to present an engaging session focused on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), led by DSST Leaders. This presentation will delve into the rich history and significant impact of HBCUs, complemented by personal stories from our leaders about their experiences. It’s a perfect moment to gain insight into the vibrant HBCU community and its role in fostering academic and professional excellence.
