Greetings Bulldog Families, There is so much to celebrate during the month of February. All the birthdays, Chinese New Year (The Year of the Dragon), Football, Valentine Day, and Black History. Did you know? Black History month was instituted in 1976. Prior to that time, it was celebrated as Negro History Week. The observance was pioneered by Carter G. Woodson, a scholar who was dedicated to the accomplishments of Black people. He chose the month of February because two of the people that he admired the most were born during that month, Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Many things are happening on the Elevate Campus! Look out for communication from your student Advisor to schedule conference time. Family Conferences are on February 15th and there is No School February 15, 16, & 19th. Also, we have our Community Conversation this month on Feb 9 from 5:30-6:30p in the Cafeteria. High School Boys and Girls Basketball Seasons are wrapping up with a double header at Elevate on Feb 14th against Monument (Girls 4:30; Boys 6:00). High School is also hosting a breakfast for 8th graders on Feb 14th. Middle School Yearbook club is selling Valentines Grams and will be delivering them on Feb 14th. There will also be a $1 dress down day on Feb 14th. Middle School can participate in dressing down (not wearing school uniform) for $1. Lastly, Middle School Boys Basketball has their 1st home game on Monday, February 12 at 4:30p. Mrs. Blades Athletic and Activities Director DSST: Elevate Middle School School
