Hello Bulldog Families!

 Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year. I am Travonda Favorite, Founding School Director at DSST: Elevate High School. I am honored to embark on year 6 at DSST as well as year 6 as a PROUD Bulldog staff member. Each week, you and your family will receive a message from one of our middle school or high school administrators as well as important upcoming dates for events and campus communications.

We have had such an amazing start at Elevate! We welcomed over 900 students to our campus last week and are now proudly serving grades 6 through 11. Students have had the opportunity to build community with staff and peers and have already started to explore academic content. We have also kicked off our fall sports including boys soccer and volleyball. Next week, all students will be engaging in their first rounds of testing. Our middle school students will take iReady while our high school students will take PSAT. These tests will allow teachers to measure where students are academically and make adjustments to support them through daily lessons and other interventions. Please ensure that your student gets adequate rest and eats a healthy breakfast next week on testing days.

 Reminders:

• Attendance: Please ensure that your student is in attendance and on time to school each day. Students arriving after 8:17 am will be asked to sign in at the front office and receive a tardy pass.

• Arrival/Dismissal: During arrival and dismissal, please refrain from parking in our neighboring parking lots on Joliet St. and Ironton St. This property belongs to a local business and is not a part of our drop off/pick up procedures. Parking in these lots and/or using them to turn around could result in towing or other fines by the business owners.

• Dress Code: Students should be in the proper dress code each day as they arrive. For middle school, this includes a shirt that has a Bulldog logo. For our full guidance, please visit our school’s website.
