Dear Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy families, 

It is our priority to keep you informed of incidents related to student safety. Earlier today, a report was presented to members of our staff suggesting a possible gun on campus. Immediate action was taken based on this information including a thorough search of said individuals reported. As a result of the actions taken we are pleased to report no weapons were discovered. We also ascertained that at no time were any students or staff in harm's way.

 

Again, we report that after a thorough search, no weapon was found. It is also important to note that weapons of any kind are prohibited at school.

 

As a reminder to students and parents alike, it is never ok to bring weapons of any kind – real or fake – onto school property. Please take this opportunity to review safety messages with your students and encourage them to always report anything that doesn’t seem right. 

 

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind our community about reporting information or activity that appears suspicious. If your child hears about or sees a potential threat to another student or the school, we strongly encourage them to report it immediately to a trusted adult, Safe2Tell at 877-542-7233, online at safe2tell.org, or the Denver police non-emergency line at 720-913-2000.
