Dear KCAA families,

It is our priority to keep you informed of incidents related to student safety. Earlier today, we placed our school into a Hold due to a student who was dealing with a crisis in a classroom. The Hold status was done out of an abundance of caution. No one was ever in danger.

Just as a reminder that a Hold status occurs when there is a situation in a public place such as a hallway to limit the traffic in the area until the situation is resolved. Everyone is directed to stay where they are, but there isn’t a need to hide like there is in a lockdown.

We would like to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our number one priority. I know that this situation can be upsetting for students and families. Our mental health supports are available to process with any community members needing additional support.
