10/20/ 2023 Newsletter

10/20/23, 3:27 PM

Dear KCAA Families,

Please read this newsletter that contains important information and updates.

Please note that if you are calling for your child's early release, students will not be pulled out of class via a phone call. Parents will need to come to the main office with a valid ID before students will be called down and released. There will be no exceptions so please plan your time accordingly. Also there will be no early release after 3:00pm as it is extremely disruptive to the end of day procedures. Thank You!

¡Gracias!

GSA will be holding a picnic in Harvey Park tomorrow 10/21 at noon (12 pm). We will meet by the playground. All secondary students are welcome! Come join us for pizza and games!
What is GSA?
Genders & Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities.

The elementary student council is putting on a fundraiser! Students can purchase a "Boo-Gram" (Halloween tootsie pop dressed up as a ghost) to send to a friend. Each boo-gram they want to send is $1. Students can purchase these during lunch in the cafeteria, on Friday, October 27th. They will be delivered on Tuesday, October 31st. Please reach out to Maggie Donofrio or Evan Sumner with any questions.

As we enter the cold weather season we want to remind parents of the expectation around student dress/clothing.  Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for recess including  hat, gloves, and coats. We will be going outside for recess unless the playground conditions are unsafe and the temperature is below freezing. This is for all grade levels K-12.

See the flyer attached with information to reserve a free turkey for Thanksgiving.
