Upcoming Events
Weekly student emails
We are shifting the weekly student progress emails to Mondays to allow students enough time to complete the email. This email should contain information on their grades, missing/incomplete work, and upcoming deadlines. If you did not receive one, please reach out to the Mustang Minutes teacher and ask your student why they didn’t complete it. To build this habit, students must complete this, even when they do not have grades in some classes. Sometimes, this indicates that they are missing all assignments.
Guest Speaker 2/2
Due to the late start on January 10, we rescheduled our guest speaker, Nick Thompson, for this Thursday, 2/3.
Family/Teacher Conferences 2/24
We will be hosting conferences for one night on Thursday, 2/24 from 3:00-7:00 pm. You can choose either in-person or virtual. I will be sending out the sign up link next week.
Surveys this month
2022-2023 Bell Schedule Survey – help us to determine what bell schedule to follow next year by answering this 2-3 question survey. The possible models are included in the survey. Please complete this survey no later than 2/18.
Budget Prioritization Survey – Please take 3-5 minutes to identify what you feel should be our budget priorities. This includes any additions as well as any reductions you feel would improve the school. Please know that based on preliminary projections, our enrollment has dropped and we will have $240,000 less next year. We greatly appreciate and value your input. Oh, if you know someone who has money to give away, give them my number.
Instructional Highlights
Makeup Policy
I want to clarify that when students are absent from school, they need to make up all missed work. Most of our teachers have work posted to the Google Classroom. You can call Mrs. Marcantonio (Attendance Secretary) for a make-up work request and can pick up the make-up work the next day. The Jeffco make-up policy states that students have two days for every one day of absence. Please support your students so that they can stay on top of missed work.
Progress toward our yearly goals
This week, we will be reviewing out yearly goals with our Community Superintendent, the Turnaround Support Team, and our CDE Turnaround Team partner. During this visit, we will identify progress toward our goals and prioritize our next action steps as we work on improved instruction and student outcomes.
Moore Middle School PTO!
Here are some items the PTO has been working on:
- The Moore Store has been shown lots of love from this wonderful community. If you haven't had a chance to donate, but still want to, the store is always accepting donations.
- The PTO has teamed up with the Leadership Class to sell carnations for $2 each. Presale starts Monday, 2/7 and runs until Friday, 2/11. Students may purchase a carnation to be delivered to the student of their choice on Valentine's Day.
- We're starting to make plans for teacher dinner during parent/teacher conferences on 2/24. If you have any ideas or would like to help, please reach out to the PTO (mooremiddleschoolpto@gmail.com).
PTO Meeting:
Please come to our Moore Middle School PTO meeting on 2/2 at 6pm. A virtual link will be available to those who signed up for the PTO Email list Sign Up Here and it will be on our Facebook Page.
