📱 Cell Phones & Electronic Devices Reminder

To help students stay focused on learning, cell phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices should only be used before and after school.

During the school day (7:20 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.), all electronic devices should be turned off or silenced and kept in your student's backpack.

If a device is seen or heard during the school day, it will be collected by a staff member and held in the school office. A parent or guardian will need to pick up the device from the office.

Please note:

• Electronic device use during extracurricular activities is determined by the coach or activity sponsor.
• Frontier Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged electronic devices. We encourage families to leave valuable devices at home whenever possible.
• Recording devices may only be used if a student has a documented accommodation outlined in a formal written plan.

🤝 Visitors & Volunteers

To help our students build independence and confidently adjust to the new school year, Frontier Academy will not have classroom visitors or volunteers on campus until September 14.

If you plan to volunteer this school year, please complete the following requirements:

✅ Complete a Background Check

All volunteers are required to have a current background check on file. Click here to complete your background check.

Please note that background checks are valid for one year from the date they are completed. For example, if your background check was completed on October 1, 2025, it will expire on October 1, 2026.

✅ Attend Volunteer Orientation

All volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation each school year.

Volunteer Orientation Details:

📍 Check in at the K-3 Front Office

🪪 Please bring a valid photo ID.

Can't make a Tuesday morning session? Volunteer Orientation is also available during OPT meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30. Please email Dr. Every if you would like to attend orientation in the evening.

🌈 Library follows the Specials Rainbow Rotation. Students visit the library every five school days (immediately after Technology class).

📚 Book Return Reminder

Books are due two library visits after checkout.

Many students enjoy returning books every library day to check out new ones. Please help your student remember to bring their library books on their library day!

📖 Checkout Limits

👶 Kindergarten: 2 books at a time (maximum of 3 checked out)

🎒 1st–5th Grade: 3 books at a time (maximum of 4 checked out)

💲 Library Fees

✅ No late fees!

📚 Students who have reached their checkout limit cannot check out additional books until books are returned.

📕 Fees are only charged for lost or damaged books.

📨 Notices will be sent home if fees are owed.

✔️ Students with outstanding fees must pay them before checking out additional books.

Secondary 6–12 Dress Code Reminder 👕

As we begin the school year, please help us ensure everyone follows Frontier Academy's dress code.

A few reminders:

• No exposed bellies, backs, buttocks, breasts, or bare shoulders.
• If a shirt or top is see-through, a dress code-approved shirt must be worn underneath.
• Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be at least mid-thigh in length.

Clothing may not have holes, tears, or patches. We have recently noticed an increase in jeans with rips and tears that do not meet dress code expectations.

Hoods and hats may not be worn inside the building at any time.

Students are expected to arrive at school each day dressed in clothing that meets the Frontier Academy dress code. If a student arrives out of dress code, they will be asked to call home so appropriate clothing can be brought to school.

Student Pickup & Drop-Off Procedures 🚙

To help keep our students safe and traffic moving efficiently, please follow these procedures at all times.

Pickup & Drop-Off Rules

• Use the curbside lane only for loading and unloading students.
• Pull forward as far as possible before stopping. Fill all available spaces to reduce traffic backups.
• Keep the inside (left) lane open at all times. This is a through lane only. Do not stop or wait in this lane.
• Do not stop, park, or wait in the designated No Vehicle Zone.
• Students should enter and exit vehicles from the passenger side whenever possible, directly onto the sidewalk.
• Remain with your vehicle. If you need to leave your vehicle, please park in a designated parking space.
• Follow all traffic signs, pavement markings, and staff directions.
• Only pass on the left when it's safe or instructed by a crossing guard.
• Drive slowly and watch carefully for students, staff, and crossing pedestrians.
• Have students ready to exit or enter the vehicle promptly to keep traffic moving.
