| Middle School & High School Attendance Letter
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we work together to support your students' education, we want to highlight one of the most powerful drivers of their success: consistent school attendance.
Every day your student is in class, they gain more than just academic knowledge. They build strong habits, connect with peers and mentors, and actively prepare for their future careers or higher education. Regular attendance directly correlates with higher grades, better standardized test scores, and a stronger sense of belonging within our school community.
Conversely, when students miss school regularly—whether excused or unexcused—it creates significant hurdles. Continued truancy makes it incredibly difficult for students to keep up with assignments, leading to academic frustration and falling grades. Over time, chronic absenteeism can significantly lower graduation rates and may limit your student's future options.
We know that barriers to attendance happen, and we are here to help. If your student is facing challenges that make it difficult to get to school on time every day, please reach out to us. We want to partner with you to find solutions and ensure your student has the support they need to thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making your student's education a priority.
Sincerely,
Randy Pfost. M.ED. Frontier Academy Assistant Principal pfostr@frontieracademy.net 970-339-9153 ext 1161
| New Digital Behavior Documentation System
This is just a quick update to let you know we are improving the process of documenting student behavior in the secondary building. We are moving from a paper system to a digital system.
What does this mean for you? If your child happens to receive a behavior write up, we no longer give them a yellow paper copy. Those were often lost or left at school. Just like in previous years, the administration will notify parents in cases of significant behavior concern, where in school suspension or more significant consequences may be assigned. Guardians will continue to be notified by an automated text in lower level cases where detention is involved. If you ever have a question, an administrator would be happy to help you.
Again, not much is changing on the parent side, but we want to keep you updated. Thank you for your support! | Student Pickup & Drop-Off Procedures
To help keep our students safe and traffic moving efficiently, please follow these procedures at all times.
Pickup & Drop-Off Rules - Use the curbside lane only for loading and unloading students.
- Pull forward as far as possible before stopping. Fill all available spaces to reduce traffic backups.
- Keep the inside (left) lane open at all times. This is a through lane only. Do not stop or wait in this lane.
- Do not stop, park, or wait in the designated No Vehicle Zone.
- Students should enter and exit vehicles from the passenger side whenever possible, directly onto the sidewalk.
- Remain with your vehicle. If you need to leave your vehicle, please park in a designated parking space.
-
Follow all traffic signs, pavement markings, and staff directions.
- Only pass on the left when it's safe or instructed by a crossing guard.
- Drive slowly and watch carefully for students, staff, and crossing pedestrians.
- Have students ready to exit or enter the vehicle promptly to keep traffic moving.
